A Love Connection Sparked Instantly,
By Gianni

Sept. 2, 2009

When my fingers started typing and I saw her words inside our chat box, an instant love connection occurred. Of course we didn’t realize it at the time, but the spark had happened that would ignite our passion in the very near future.

My first marriage had ended nearly 2 years before this time. In search for a new love connection of my own, I had become accustomed to joining various online dating sites and communicating with people over the internet. I had recently joined a Christian dating site and was doing my usual browsing of pictures and profiles. On July 3rd, 2008, I was drawn to a cute picture of a Jersey woman. (Although I am from Pennsylvania, I didn’t mind looking cross-state, but tried to keep my inquiries within a somewhat reasonable distance by now.) I felt compelled to send her an “INTEREST” after reading her profile, but I really didn’t expect a response. I kind of thought she was out of my league. I figured she probably had enough guys trying to get her attention already, and I wouldn’t even get a second look.

On July 4th, I logged into the Dating Site. I saw that I had an email in my inbox. Boy was I surprised when I saw it was the woman from New Jersey. I thought, “No way!”. But she had actually taken the time to write me back a thoughtful email in response to my lame “INTEREST”. She liked my profile and didn’t even remember looking where I was from. I think the thing that stuck out in her mind was that I said, “I can’t live without having pets in my life”. Then I noticed that she was also logged in at the same time. With my stomach gurgling, I pressed the INSTANT CHAT option. I was excited to see that she responded to my request. Then the fireworks started in our emotions and an instant love connection began beneath the surface.

We didn’t know that we were on the verge of creating our own love story online when we started chatting that day. We didn’t realize at that time that there are very strong love connections running between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. As we typed away on our laptops, we felt completely comfortable with each other from the first word until the last. We were natural together. We seemed to agree with everything that we talked about and we began to feel a very strong sense of compatibility with each other as we learned about our family backgrounds, our experiences, our children, our Christian beliefs, our interests.

Of course we didn’t call it this at the time, but a love connection had been sparked between us after about a two hour conversation online. We both knew that we would be talking again. I sent Sophie an email before picking up my teenage children for the weekend, saying, “Thanks for the chat earlier today. I enjoyed it. I’m sure if we try hard enough, we can find something to disagree on (lol).” I told her to feel free to drop me a line over the weekend.

The next day, I was happy to see an email from Sophie. “It was a pleasure chatting with you! …Hope you have a great weekend with your kids.” We continued to exchange a few friendly emails throughout the weekend, sharing our adventures about dogs and our kids and increased the undercurrent of our new love connection. This was just the beginning of our wonderful love story online. ...
