How Gianni's Songs and Poems

Romantic songs can be heard quite often on the radio and I can honestly say that before I met Gianni, no one had ever composed a one just for me. Before I go any further with this tale of romantic songs, I feel it is important to tell you about my love of music so that you can really appreciate how Gianni’s songs have touched me.

My favorite songs are Christian contemporary; however, I like some of the oldies too. Actually, I like many different types of music. So, if you happen to see me driving along and there is a song I like playing on the radio (not too many I don’t like), then you will most likely see me singing along. If it one of my favorites, I have the volume cranked up pretty loud. If I am in a place where it is not appropriate to be singing and I hear a good song, you can bet my foot or my fingers will be tapping along to the beat. I love to sing, dance; tap my feet, anything so that I can enjoy the music. You get the picture.

The day Gianni and I were driving to meet each other for the first time, he composed and sang his first romantic song to me. I already knew that I was in love with Gianni so this was really the “icing on the cake” for me. I thought it was the most romantic, sweet thing anyone had ever done for me. Not only did he remember the words but he also remembered the tune to the song. Then on the way home, he still remembered everything about the song and was able to add to it.

Gianni just kept composing more and more songs for me. He continues to this day to write and sing songs for me. As of this writing, 26 songs in total. Each song is from his heart and they touch me in ways that are hard to put into words. They are songs about the problems inherent with a long distance relationship, songs about missing each other, songs about love, and more. Each romantic song makes me feel so special and loved.

Not only does Gianni write songs, he also writes romantic love poems for me. When he reads these poems to me, most of the time they are so heartfelt that they bring tears to my eyes. His expressions of love in his songs and poems are overwhelming to me.

A few months before we were to get married, I asked Gianni if he would sing at our wedding. Gianni hesitated but he finally agreed and did sing during our wedding ceremony. He sang three of my favorite songs. It made the day so extraordinary and so unique. It meant the world to me that Gianni had the courage to sing at our wedding. It was humbling to me that Gianni loves me so much he was able to sing in front of everyone.

Gianni has promised me that he will sing at least one of his romantic songs to me every day. So far, he has not let me down. Much of the time, tears well in my eyes because I am so touched by the songs, even though I have heard them before. It is an awesome way for Gianni to express his love to me and it makes me love him all the more.
